ALan-MilinAlan Millin

 is a UK registered Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and LEED® Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He has more than 35 years experience in the HVAC industry and also holds a MSc. in Software Development.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management and also of the Institute of Refrigeration and a Certified Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management, while enjoying Member grade of several other UK engineering and management institutions.

He is an experienced trainer and has served as Regional Training Manager with an industry leading OEM company, covering the Middle East, Africa and India region and has led the consultancy missions of two of Dubai’s leading FM companies.

Alan has often provided training on behalf of the UAE Society of Engineers on technical and soft-skills topics, supporting the professional development of consulting engineers from many of the UAE’s leading engineering consultancy companies while continuing to raise the bar on professional engineering standards. He also delivered the January 2009 presentation of the “Sustainable Practices in Facilities Management” module of Heriot Watt University’s (Dubai Campus) MSc. in Facilities Management.

Alan has developed and delivered the LEED® Green Associate training course for the British University in Dubai / Emirates Green Building Council and also developed a LEED continuing professional development course for a training organization in Dubai Knowledge Village, enabling that company to gain accreditation as a US Green Building Council accredited training provider.

Osama Al Alami 

is a very senior and highly respected FM professional, who has over 30 years of experience in diverse aspects of Facilities Management and Asset Management across the Gulf region. He has worked across the UAE, Kuwait and Syria; and has essayed a variety of senior management roles – giving him exposure to the entire range of business strategy, business development and corporate growth functions.

Osama has over 30 years of experience, with more than 10 years of practicing Facilities Management at senior positions. He has with leading corporations including Coffey Projects ME, Imdaad LLC, GRESCO, PROJACS and Drake & Skull [Emcor], amongst others.

Osama is an Electrical Engineer by training who completed his BSc. in Electrical Engineering in 1975. He is an expert in CMMS systems and has significant expertise in Concept 500, Maximo, Archibus and other such evolved systems.

 


 

Gary

Gary Walton

is one of the region’s most experienced and highly qualified construction and facilities management consultants with extensive experience in the design and implementation of major construction and infrastructure projects, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Maritime City and Dubai Waterfront.

He has an Honours Degree in Environmental Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer and is a specialist in the design, operations and strategies supporting critical environments.

Gary’s specialises in the Sustainable Design (water and energy efficiency) of mechanical, electrical and public health systems and their full integration with the building and its sub systems, through to operational readiness. He has extensive practical experience in the design and implementation of critical environment systems and also electronic control and data acquisition system requirements, control system strategies, metering strategies, metering with the use of wireless and power line data transmission (BMS, iBMS, CAFM, Fire detection & security).

Gary served as a Contract Administrator responsible for construction activities for the UK’s £510m air traffic control centre (En Route Centre) based in the South of England. He was responsible for the UK Air Traffic construction programme from 1995 to 1997.
