About the Seminar

The MEFMA Seminar is scheduled to take place on March 1, 2023 at the Dusit Thani LakeView Hotel – Cairo under the theme “Driving the Egypt FM Industry towards Business Excellence.

This full-day event aims to be a great platform for knowledge exchange, reaching and connecting with top decision-makers, networking with the region’s FM professionals and learning from the experts. The Seminar will include educational presentations, case-studies and insightful panel sessions that will add value to the industry professionals attending this event and is also expected to bring together key industry stakeholders from around the region.

تعقد جمعية الشرق الأوسط لإدارة المرافق الملتقى القادم بتاريخ 1 مارس 2023 بفندق دوسيت تاني ليك فيو – القاهرة تحت شعار “قيادة قطاع إدارة المرافق في مصر نحو الإبداع والتميز”.

Jamal Abdulla Lootah is the Group CEO of Imdaad, a Dubai-based Facilities Management company that is setting new standards in sustainability and innovation. Recognized as one of the region’s foremost experts on facilities management, his visionary leadership is central to the company’s ongoing success story.

Recently named as the most influential individual in the Middle East’s FM industry for the eighth time, Lootah is one of the key founders who contributed to the establishment and success of the Middle East Facilities Management Association (MEFMA). His in-depth market knowledge and forward-thinking approach have helped to establish Imdaad as the FM partner of choice for prestigious clients across a diverse range of sectors.

In 2019, Lootah was named ‘FM CEO of the Year’ by CEO Middle East and listed among the World’s Most Powerful Arabs by Arabian Business. Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi is one of the influential leaders of the facilities management and asset management industry in the Middle East. He has been in the industry since the nascent stages and has been tasked with a range of prestigious, mission-critical, high-profile assignments. His valuable volunteering contributed to the growth of the industry in the Middle East and especially GCC countries.

Eng. Ali is one of the FM subject matter experts worldwide and a visionary speaker participating in facility management workshops, conferences, and seminars. Amongst many other important tasks, Ali was the first operation head for the tallest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa.

In addition to being one of the key founders of MEFMA and a prominent figure in the Middle East, he also has a great impact and huge influence globally by being the Vice Chairman in the Global FM Association (GFM) since January 2021 and previously as a board of director since January 2013, along with having a valuable impact as well on various entities in which he held key positions.

Eng. Ali holds MBA from American University of Sharjah and B.S in Electrical Engineering from Toledo, Ohio-USA. He also holds Mini MBA certificate of leadership from INSEAD, and he is a graduate from Dubai Government leadership program in coordination with The Wharton school of Business, USA. Ali Holds international diploma on health, safety and environment management from British Safety council.

– Worked in my family business in construction for 17 years accomplished several projects during that time as an example school complexes in 5 different governorates in Egypt , another the main office building of the ministry of Housing in Alexandria (among others).

– Left my firm just after the revolution 2011 to join GIZ (German international cooperation) as a consultant to supervise construction & O&M projects of waste water plants in Egypt.

– Earned my Master of Science degree by end of 2013 in Project Construction management from the Arab Academy for Science & Maritime & Technology.

– Started a career at Hill International to supervise 2 projects through until 2018. (Porto Sokhna at the red sea & Amawaj resort at the Mediterranean).

– Started with parallel at the same time achieving my PhD at sanitary Engineering (due encouragement of my firm) from the University of Alexandria, earned my degree by end of 2017.

– Professor & program manager at the Arab academy & the American University in Cairo (AUC) until now , with my work as a project manager at Hill.

–  Joined The Grand Egyptian Museum with Hill as Consultant of Project until 2021.

– Founder & CEO of Kandil PM (my Private consultancy) with 2 major accounts as FM consultant.

– Lead Several research projects with University Of Alexandria regarding water conservation & sustainable solutions for soil lining.

Haitham has over 21 years of operations, facility management, quality, and HSE experience in the real estate and telecommunications industries, working for several notable companies around the world. His primary goal is to expand the facilities management brand by improving efficiency and providing quality health and safety.

Haitham holds a BA in civil structural engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and a Master of Management in total quality, safety management, and systems implementation from the American University of Cairo (AUC), the NEBOSH International General Certificate from England, and the Facilities Management Foundation from the American university.

Haitham held senior facilities management and operations roles with ORASCOM, where he was responsible for the facilities quality and safety in Pakistan, Nigeria, and Egypt, as well as EMAAR, where he was responsible for the three projects (UTC, Marassi, and Mivida) in the central team as Facilities QHSE Head before serving as the head of FM for Mivida and as a facilities director at IMKAN Misr before joining Hassan Allam Properties as a Senior Director of Facilities Management.

Dr. Mohamed EL Deeb, currently the Chairman and CEO of El Shams for Housing and Development, and a board member in a number of Real Estate companies, he has more than thirty years of experience in Projects and Facilities Management, as well as an extensive knowledge of the Real Estate field as he held different positions in international institutions like Orascom Holding & Development, Emaar Misr for Development S.A.E and IMKAN Properties.
He holds a PhD in Construction Engineering from Ain Shams University, MSc. In Construction Management from Cairo University, and he became IFMA certified trainer and holds: FMP in 2016 and SFP 2018. Mohamed was a “Visiting Professor” at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and he has a number of academic published papers at the CSCE, in the subjects of Real Estate and Facilities Management.
He is an active contributor to the community’s continuous learning as he was among the founding members of the Steering Committee of the FM forum One & Two in the American University in Cairo 2016, that aims at adding value to FM industry and staff development through organizing the high-quality training needed.

Sharafeldin is currently Chairman of the Board for both DMC & Almasreya for Energy Distribution Companies over and above heading Mountain View Supply Chain.

Expert proficient with impressive track record with 40++ years in the field of MEP Engineering (Construction Industry). Headed the MEP sector in Arab Contractors Co. Managed/Achieved and completed turnkey MEP mega projects in Egypt in addition to international exposer in Kuwait (15th Brigade Camp Project, Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense), Nigeria (NDIC project) Rwanda (Ministry of Defense Head Quarter) and Iraq (Basra Water Desalination Plant). Furthermore, worked for ABB for more than six years, and accomplished several projects e.g. Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel, San Stefano Alexandria, Movenpick Media City 6TH OF October, Hilton Dream Land, Oriental Resorts, Al Salam Concord, Sharm Inn Hotels at Sharm ElSheikh and Grand Beach at Hurgada.

In 2010 he was CEO of Arab Contractors Co. Of Operations and Maintenance managing the strategic projects Countrywide e.g. Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Congress Head Quarter, Stadiums, Courts., Salheia Pumping Stations, Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants.

In 2012, he was CEO of Dar El Mimar for Construction Co. (DMC) subsidiary of Dar El Mimar Group (DMG).

Yasmin Mansour Mahmoud

Yasmin is an experienced sustainable facilities management professional with more than 15 years of experience in Facilities & Operations. As the Sustainability Director, Yasmin is now leading The American University in Cairo – Office of Sustainability. This position is concerned with addressing AUC’s environmental challenges, including climate change, resource scarcity, pollution, and waste management. Among others, her area of expertise, Yasmin has vast experience in developing & writing technical reports, including the Carbon Footprint, and Sustainability Report, in addition to several international reports addressing SDGs. She developed AUC’s COE “UNGC – Communication on Engagement,” addressing the University’s commitment to the UN’s five main principles Human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

Yasmin Mansour is a certified Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) and has Facility Management Professional (FMP) credentials from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). Mansour received a Master’s degree in Construction Management from the American University in Cairo.

Yasmin Mansour has a leading role in community services & NGOs. She serves as a board member of the Egyptian Facility Management Association “EGFMA” and the Education & Training Committee Chair.

Yasmin was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. In 2002, Mansour graduated with high honors from Ain Shams University with a B.Sc. in Architecture Engineering, Urban & Planning department. Mansour is a master in English, French, and Arabic.
